SpongeBob SquarePants and Friends Join Ocean Park Summer Splash Hong Kong

The annual Ocean Park Summer Splash is set to immerse the city from 1 July to 28 August in water fun with a galore of exhilarating water-themed attractions, scrumptious dishes and “Get Closer to the Animals” activities. Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends Patrick Star, Squidward Tentacles and Mr. Krabs are visiting from Bikini Bottom to engage with guests and fans from all over the world in the city’s first-ever SpongeBob Water Party. 

Fans of the adorable character can collect limited-edition souvenirs and enjoy SpongeBob-themed healthy vegetable delicacies and cooling dishes. Ocean Park is also presenting various “Get Closer to the Animals” programmes, including the time-limited summer edition of Grand Aquarium Exploration, which takes guests on a memorable marine adventure. A second wave of summer surprise will start on 15 July, with around 800 prizes being given out every week to guests through the Ocean Park Mobile App.









Drenching Water Party and Challenging AMaze-ing Lasers
The first-ever SpongeBob Water Party in Hong Kong transports guests into the wondrous world of Bikini Bottom, letting them enjoy a range of immersive water attractions with SpongeBob SquarePants and friends, as well as fun photo and video opportunities for sharing with friends and family. 

Another major highlight is AMaze-ing Lasers, a brand new ride brought over from the United States for the first time. Players will get the chance to unleash their wits and agility in traversing the laser grids within a pitch dark chamber, as if they were playing an action hero. Each player will receive a score when they press the buttons at different corners of the chamber, making it possible for friends to compete in reaching higher scores. 
















Mega Gush offers the greatest cooling sensation as guests stand below a huge water bucket and feel the incomparable cascading chilling pleasure. Jumbo Bubble Playground, another brand new attraction, allows guests to create giant human-sized bubbles alongside SpongeBob-themed decorations, making it a colourful photo backdrop. 

The must-visit Rainbow Fountain cools guests with its fancy waterspouts synchronised to colourful lights and rhythms. Guests of all ages alike will be mesmerised by the strong beats and dynamic lighting at the Wild Foam Zone.
Near the Water Party zone, friends can target each other with water bombs at the Super Splash Battle, soaking each other in a fun and festive atmosphere. Kids would want to join the Kids DIY Workshop at Whiskers Harbour to take home their masterpieces such as SpongeBob keychains, Patrick Star catapults, fish and panda dolls made with rainbow-coloured clay.

Fans will want to roam the Park to look for SpongeBob and his friends in different summer looks and be prepared for a surprise appearance by SpongeBob who will interact with them. 

During Summer Splash, guests can visit the limited-time SpongeBob Pop-Up Store near Applause Pavilion to shop for a wide range of limited-edition Ocean Park X SpongeBob SquarePants merchandise, including umbrellas, beach mats, T-shirts and water bottles. Fans looking to spread the fun may take advantage of the face painting service and camouflage themselves as SpongeBob and his friends. In addition, a series of SpongeBob-themed healthy vegetarian dishes are available at various in-park restaurants and food kiosks featuring decorations of SpongeBob SquarePants.
Cool Snacks and Lakeside BBQ Add to Summer Fun
Cooling snacks such as iced pineapple and mini watermelon will also be available at food kiosks to help guests beat the summer heat. Ocean Park is also launching its first-ever Lakeside BBQ Carnival, where guests can savour scrumptious skewers and barbequed food including Grilled U.S. Beef Ribeye Cubes, New Zealand Mussels in White Wine and Herbs, as well as assorted skewers and sausages along with special cool drinks, pushing the party atmosphere to a climax.
Summer Edition Grand Aquarium Exploration with Two-person Discount Available
Water sports enthusiasts would not want to miss the summer-only edition of Ocean Park’s unique snorkelling experience inside the Grand Aquarium. Guests are led by a professional diver to encounter colourful coral and coral fishes, such as Shy Butterflyfish, Painted Triggerfish, Blue-stripped Snapper, fusilier and angelfish. 

The adventure also includes an exclusive tour of the coral breeding room and back-of-house facilities. Participants can learn about how the Park provides the most suitable environment for corals, thereby deepening their knowledge about protecting corals and marine life while raising awareness of the importance of marine conservation. Participants should be aged 10 or above (children under 12 need to be accompanied by a paying adult to join the programme), non-swimmers are also welcome. Emirates named World’s Best Airline at Skytrax World Airline Awards 2016

Emirates was named the World’s Best Airline 2016 at the prestigious Skytrax World Airline Awards 2016, in addition to scooping up the awards for World’s Best Inflight Entertainment for a record 12th consecutive year, and Best Airline in the Middle East.

Based on the results of the largest airline passenger satisfaction survey in the industry, the World’s Best Airline Awards are considered a global benchmark of airline excellence. This year’s Skytrax awards were based on a total of 19.2 million completed surveys covering 280 airlines, by customers hailing from more than 104 countries. The Skytrax survey measures quality standards across 41 key performance indicators of front-line products and services in the airline industry.

This is the fourth time Emirates has won the top accolade since the airline awards were introduced 15 years ago; the airline won the first ever Skytrax World’s Best Airline in 2001, again in 2002 and in 2013. In total, Emirates has won a total of 20 Skytrax World Airline Awards since 2001.

Peraduan ‘Teka Teki Terkial’ di ERA fm

Stesen ERA fm tidak pernah jemu untuk menghidangkan sajian yang menarik buat pendengarnya. Salah satu inisiatif untuk memberi penghargaan kepada pendengar, ERA fm menyeru pendengar setianya untuk menyertai sebuah pertandingan yang diberi nama ‘Teka Teki Terkial ’ bermula 25 Julai sehingga 12 Ogos 2016.

Permainan ringkas dan lucu ini akan dilaksanakan di ketiga-tiga cawangan stesen ERA fm termasuk lah ERA fm Sabah dan ERA fm Sarawak. Lebih menarik, permainan teki ini akan menguji kepintaran pendengar untuk meneka sebuah teka teki yang merangkumi unsur lawak dikendalikan oleh JoHaRa.

Para pendengar akan diminta untuk mendengar isyarat pemanggil bagi cabaran Teka Teki Terkial. Peyampai radio yang bertugas pada waktu tersebut, akan memainkan snippet sebuah teka-teki yang diberikan oleh JoHaRa.

Program Bertemakan Semangat Kebangsaan Sempena Kempen Negaraku 2016 Astro

Bersempena dengan sambutan Hari Kebangsaan 2016, Astro bakal memberikan penghormatan kepada Malaysia serta rakyatnya yang berbilang bangsa menerusi kempen NEGARAKU, bermula 15 Ogos hingga 16 September, 2016 di semua landasan Astro.  
Melalui kempen NEGARAKU, Astro akan menayangkan lebih 60 rancangan baharu antaranya, merangkumi kekayaan sejarah negara, kepelbagaian etnik, bahasa dan budaya masyarakat Malaysia. Astro turut menyiarkan program yang diterbitkan khas demi mengangkat budaya dan bangsa Malaysia seperti:

Program yang julung kali diadakan ini diadakan bagi mempromosikan lagi destinasi pelancongan di negeri Johor khususnya di pulau-pulau yang terdapat di daerah Mersing.

Kepulauan Mersing menawarkan pengalaman percutian yang ternyata berbeza dengan panorama indah seumpama kepulauan Maldive. Keindahan pulau yang masih belum ‘terusik’ ini menjadikan pulau-pulau di sini destinasi pilihan pelancong tempatan dan antarabangsa untuk mencari ketenangan bersama rakan-rakan mahupun keluarga.

Kangaroos On Tree World Of Makaia And Nupela Singapore Zoo

Singapore Zoo guests visiting in August can look forward to witnessing the beginnings of an epic love story between Makaia the miracle tree kangaroo and his betrothed mate Nupela, with the opening of the Goodfellow’s tree kangaroo exhibit at the Australasian Zone today. The newly created indoor space will bring guests in close proximity with these fascinating creatures and offer a rare chance to observe how tree kangaroos have adapted to a life above ground.     

This species stands among the rarest animals kept under human care, with only approximately 50 animals in zoos around the world. With the recent arrival of Makaia and Nupela, Singapore Zoo is now the proud custodian of four tree kangaroos. 

Distinguishable by a pair of golden stripes trailing down the centre of its back, the Goodfellow’s tree kangaroo is also known as the ornate tree kangaroo. Each individual’s tail sports a unique pattern of yellow rings and blotches. As its name suggests, tree kangaroos live in trees and have well-developed and muscular forelimbs, which serve them well when navigating their canopy homes in the forests of Papua New Guinea. These master climbers have noticeably broader feet than their land cousins, and padded soles tipped with sharped curved claws that allow for a better grip on tree limbs. 

While often somewhat clumsy, these elusive living plush toys have a few tricks of their own for survival in the wild—they have been known to leap up to 15 metres from tree to ground without hurting themselves. In addition, while their ground cousins can only move forwards, tree kangaroos have the ability to walk backwards, which makes it easier for them to traverse their treetop terrain.

The star amongst the four tree kangaroos in Singapore Zoo is no doubt Makaia, dubbed the ‘miracle baby’ by his carers in Australia. Makaia, whose name means magic in a Papua New Guinea dialect, came from Australia’s Adelaide Zoo on 4 July 2016. In a world first for conservation, the Goodfellow’s tree kangaroo made global headlines in November 2014 when he was adopted by a surrogate yellow-footed wallaby at 47 days old, after his mother’s sudden demise. When he outgrew his foster mother’s pouch, a human caregiver took over, and he became the only tree kangaroo to have the distinction of being raised by three mothers!  

Nupela hailed from Sydney’s Taronga Zoo, and was a local celebrity in her own right, being the first Goodfellow’s tree kangaroo to be born in the Australian zoo in over 20 years. She arrived in Singapore Zoo on 1 June 2016. 

Goodfellow’s tree kangaroo numbers have dwindled drastically in the last century, and in 2012, the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) set up a Global Species Management Plan (GSMP) to ensure their survival. Under the GSMP, participating zoos  in Australia, Europe, North America, Japan, and Singapore would cooperate to enhance the sustainability of the global population under human care, and also act as an assurance population should there be a catastrophic decline in the wild. 

Makaia and Nupela are paired up under the recommendation of the GSMP. Pairing suitable individuals from participating zoos also minimises inbreeding of related animals and enhances the genetic pool of the species under human care.

Last May, a young male that was bred in Singapore Zoo was sent to Yokohama Zoo, Japan, under the recommendation of GSMP. 

Dr Cheng Wen-Haur, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Life Sciences Officer, Wildlife Reserves Singapore, said: “We are very happy to be the proud custodian of Makaia and Nupela, under the Global Species Management Plan for Goodfellow’s tree kangaroos. Such programmes enable zoos from different countries and continents to breed threatened species in a scientific and coordinated manner to achieve demographic and genetic sustainability. Together with conservation efforts in the animals’ natural habitats, these breeding programmes help to ensure the survival of the species.” 

Named after Walter Goodfellow, the British zoological collector who discovered them, this species of tree kangaroo is classified as ‘Endangered’ under the IUCN* Red List of Threated Species due to unsustainable hunting and loss of habitat. In the last 50 years, its population has declined by about 50 per cent.

British Airways Announces Kuala Lumpur London Schedule Change

British Airways today announces a schedule change with daily flights to depart Kuala Lumpur just after mid-night starting 31 October 2016, for the upcoming winter season. Currently all London-bounded daily flights are departing at 23:05, with the one-hour change, customers from Kuala Lumpur will still arrive London just before the day begins. The departure time for the Kuala Lumpur-bounded flights will remain unchanged.

Beli Dan Dapat Pulangan Tunai Tanpa Had Dari Lebih 500 Stor Online

ShopBack Malaysia, platform laman web Cashback atau pulangan tunai terulung dalam negara, hari ini mengumumkan aplikasi mudahalihnya sedia dimuat turun pembeli di Malaysia, menerusi iOS App Store dan Google Play Store, bermula dari 19 Julai 2016.

Bersempena pelancaran aplikasi mudahalih, platform, Malaysia akan memberi ganjaran RM5 kepada semua pengguna, apabila mereka membuat pembelian di mana-mana lebih 500 stor rakan niaga menerusi aplikasi tersebut dari 19-21 Julai 2016. Tambahan lagi, 11 laman e-dagang seperti Agoda, Foodpanda, Groupon, Hermo, Lazada, Qoo10, Zalora, akan turut sama menyertai sambutan ini dengan memberikan lebih pulangan tunai, tawaran harga rendah RM10, baucer potongan RM5-RM20, serta kod promo diskaun 40%.

“Pulangan tunai benar-benar hanya ‘memberikan pulangan tunai’. Fungsi pulangan tunai online berbeza dari pulangan tunai kad kredit. Ia tiada had siling dan kami menawarkan kepada pengguna sehingga 30% pulangan tunai setiap kali mereka berbelanja di stor rakan niaga kami. Ianya sangat mudah digunakan dan penjimatan pulangan tunai ini boleh dipindahkan ke dalam akaun bank mereka selepas tempoh pengesahan,” kata Sharmeen Looi, Ketua Pegawai Operasi di ShopBack Malaysia.

Platform laman web pulangan tunai ini yang membolehkan lebih 300,000 pengguna untuk membeli-belah dan mendapatkan pulangan tunai tanpa had setiap bulan, telah membuat bayaran lebih RM5.4 juta kepada pembeli di Malaysia sejak Februari tahun lepas. 







Trend Cashbak di Malaysia

Berdasarkan data di ShopBack Malaysia, 30% dari pengguna datang dari Lembah Klang; 70% lagi dari kawasan Malaysia yang lain. Pembeli sering membuat pembelian selepas waktu makan tengah hari dan makan malam, di antara jam 2pm-3pm dan 9pm-10pm.
Kebanyakan pembeli membeli-belah dari kategori Pelancongan, Fesyen, Elektronik Umum dan Isi Rumah, terutama sekali penginapan hotel tempatan, lampin bayi, tambah nilai mudahalih, fesyen Korea dan produk kecantikan.

Data ini juga menunjukkan jualan untuk F&B dan barangan Runcit akan terus meningkat kerana jenama seperti Tesco dan Guardian, telah mula bekerjasama dengan ShopBack tahun ini.

“Kami sering menerima persoalan, di mana dan bagaimana kami mendapatkan wang untuk membayar pengguna – ia sebenarnya diambil dari komisyen kami. Kebiasaannya pengiklan tidak berkongsi pendapatan mereka, tetapi model tiga-penjuru yang berasal dari US ini memberi merit kepada semua pihak yang terlibat, di mana pembeli, peniaga e-dagang dan ShopBack dapat berkembang bersama-sama, seterusnya bergandingan mengekalkan pembangunan ekosistem e-dagang.

Kami menghargai idea tersebut dan berusaha membolehkan rakyat Malaysia untuk membeli-belah secara pintar, sambil memperoleh pulangan tunai menerusi pembelian harian. Pengguna telefon pintar di Malaysia dijangka mencecah 11 juta orang. Ia adalah populasi yang sangat besar yang belum kami terokai. Kami yakin aplikasi mudahalih ShopBack akan menjadi peralatan strategik untuk membawa pulangan tunai kepada lebih ramai pengguna digital dengan lebih pantas,” tambah Looi.

ShopBack Malaysia mengekalkan peningkatan trafik yang sihat, secara purata 20% dari bulan-ke-bulan pada pertengahan pertama 2016, mencerminkan peningkatan populariti pulangan tunai di kalangan pembeli tempatan.

Selain Malaysia, ShopBack juga terdapat di India, Indonesia, Filipina, dan Singapura. Ia bukan sahaja platform pulangan tunai No. 1 di Malaysia, tetapi juga di rantau Asia Tenggara, membawakan sekurang-kurangnya 6 tempahan kepada stor rakan niaga setiap minit.

Lima (5) ‘Brader Rock’ Asah Bakat Peserta Saringan Awal ‘JoHaRockStar’

Gelombang muzik rock yang melanda industri hiburan tanahair pada tahun ini sememangnya memberikan impak besar terhadap peminat- peminat muzik tempatan. Ternyata, muzik rock yang dihidangkan oleh bakat-bakat tempatan ini menjadi permintaan paling tinggi di corong stesen ERA fm.

JoHaRockStar merupakan sebuah program realiti berbentuk nyanyian anjuran ERA fm yang mencungkil bakat nyanyian rock dikalangan peminat muzik tanahair.

“Kami cukup berbangga kerana dapat bekerjasaman dengan pihak Digi bagi menjayakan program sebegini. Memandangkan permintaan terhadap muzik rock menjadi fenomena di Malaysia, ERA fm buat pertama kalinya berganding bahu dengan lima (5) kumpulan rock popular tanahair bagi meneruskan misi pencarian seorang Penyanyi Rock Malaysia yang baharu menerusi pencarian JoHaRockStar! Antara kumpulan-kumpulan yang bakal terbabit untuk mencari juara JoHaRockStar adalah Hyper Act, Estranged, Projector Band, Kristal dan Khalifah. Peyertaan terbuka kepada semua warga Malaysia dan Singapore berumur 18 hingga 35 tahun dan mestilah menghantarkan video nyanyian mereka menyanyikan apa jua jenis lagu dalam genre rock” menurut Pengurus Kandungan Kanan ERA fm, Nazri Noran.

Sehingga kini hampir Kumpulan rock (Brader Rock) akan dibawa masuk sebagai mentor dan mereka masing-masing akan memilih 3 orang ahli untuk pasukan mereka daripada senarai penyertaan yang terpilih.

Malaysia mempunyai ramai bakat muzik dan kami berharap untuk mengetemukan peminat-peminat dengan bintang rock tempatan yang mempunyai nama besar dalam industri.'Jom berinspirasi’ adalah lebih daripada sekadar slogan untuk Digi. NegaRAKU Tour Bermula di Kuantan Sabtu Ini! Saksikan persembahan bertenaga Monoloque, Plague of Happiness, Tres Empre, Aru & The Republic, Massacre Conspiracy dan Artefacts.

Khas buat masyarakat Malaysia yang gemarkan muzik indie, Raku sekali lagi bekerjasama dengan penghibur-penghibur indie tempatan untuk memeriahkan lagi sambutan Hari Kebangsaan menerusi NegaRAKU Tour. Raku, yang merupakan aplikasi perkhidmatan muzik dan radio penstriman percuma di Malaysia, bakal mengegarkan seluruh Malaysia pada bulan Ogos dan September!

Berlangsung selama enam (6) minggu, NegaRAKU Tour akan mempersembahkan barisan artis indie yang tidak asing lagi dalam industri muzik indie, seperti kumpulan Monoloque, Plague of Happiness, Tres Empre, Aru & The Republic, Massacre Conspiracy dan Artefacts yang masing-masing terkenal dengan genre muzik yang berlainan seperti rock, alternatif, djent, ska-punk, Nu-Santara dan reggae.

Seterusnya, NegaRAKU Tour akan menyambung siri jelajah mereka ke Melaka pada 27 Ogos, Sarawak (3 September), Sabah (10 September), Kuala Lumpur (17 September) dan melabuh tirainya di Johor pada 24 September dengan kerjasama Seni JB Arts Festival.
